Lakeland Christian Writers – December 2nd Meeting
I’m so excited about our December 2nd meeting –not only because I’ll get to see my fellow writers again but also because we have a guest speaker and it’s our end of the year Christmas party.

Daphne will be sharing her testimony on 10/10/10
I am humbled and honored to share my testimony at the Celebrate Recovery Meeting at First Baptist Church at the Mall in Lakeland, Florida on Sunday, October 10, 2010.
Dinner is offered from 5pm to 6pm for a fee of $5.
The co-ed large group starts at 6pm and runs through 7pm. This is a worship-type service, where we sing, read the 12 steps, collect our milestone chips, and then hear a testimony or a teaching. Mine is the testimony for the night.
Then we break out into gender-specific, issue-specific groups from 7pm to 8pm. Groups available to women include:
- Abuse
- Chemical dependency
- Codependency
- Hurts, habits, and hang-ups
Groups available to men include:
- Chemical dependency
- Hurts, habits, and hang-ups
Then from 8pm to 9pm, we have a coffeehouse time, where you can fellowship and get to know one another. You can even find accountability partners and sponsors during this time.

Lakeland Christian Writers – October 7 Meeting
The next Lakeland Christian Writers Meeting is on October 7th in Lakeland, Florida, and for those of you in the central Florida area, you won’t want to miss it.
Here’s what’s on the agenda:
- Open with prayer
- Announcements
- Celebrate submissions and publications
- April Whitt and I will share our experiences from the Florida Inspirational Writers’ Retreat
- Veronica Berry will share her experiences from publishing her inspirational fiction story, Melia: Job’s Wife (Genie Publishing). Veronica also will talk about her experiences with the Polk Authors and Illustrators Festival (this past weekend) and from working with Genie Publishing, based out of Lakeland, Florida.
- We’ll split up into teams and give and receive feedback on our work. Please bring a manuscript to share with others – and 5 copies to distribute to your fellow writers during the critique. Don’t worry; you’ll get all 5 copies back at the end of your 15 minutes.

The Florida Inspirational Writers’ Retreat is this weekend, September 24th and 25th at the Cedarkirk Retreat and Conference Center in Lithia, Florida. This year’s theme is “Touching Lives Through the Written Word.” Conference speakers include:
